Executive Session Minutes – SELECTBOARD
Executive Session 7:30 PM – In the open meeting, the board voted to go into Executive Session. Selectboard members present were Edith M., Karen C. and Richy B. with T.A. Nina N.

Discussion begin at 7:32 PM (i.e. once public meeting attendees had left the room).
Executive Session, in accordance with M.G.L. c. 30A, §21: Exemption Two – To conduct strategy sessions in preparation for negotiations with non-union personnel – Fire Chief
The Selectboard members discussed the option of a 3-year contract, suggested by Chief Bennett to Nina to address the Selectboard request for the Chief to become an EMT. The Selectboard agreed that for this period, a 1-year contract would be most practical and that they might consider a 3-year contract in the future.
In the language about working towards certification as an EMT, the Selectboard agreed that by June 30, 2019, the Fire Chief should complete at least 125 hours towards certification. The draft contract will be circulated to the Fire Chief for his signature and then will be brought back to the Selectboard for their vote and signature.
7:49 PM Selectmen closed the executive session with Edith making a motion to adjourn, Karen seconded and in roll call vote they returned to open session with Edith, Karen and Richy each saying “aye.”
